With the elimination of a jump from the free skate wanted by the new rules, Yuzuru Hanyu excluded the 3Lz from his programs. In fact, he only performed it in the 2019-20 season, and not even in all competitions, since the Four Continents Championship his lutz was a quadruple. For this reason, in my check on the best elements performed by Hanyu, for the last four years I have only four 3Lz. There are no really high scores in this case, and I wonder why, because some of Hanyu’s triple lutzes are very good. Even so, the tendency to lower his marks is confirmed.
I am perplexed by many marks, even those received with the +3/-3 system, such as the 3Lz of the 2017 World Championship, where Hanyu received two +3, six +2 and a +1, but the worst scored is the 3Lz of the 2019 Grand Prix Final, which obtained an average mark below +3 (in the protocol there are two +4, three +3 and four +2), and I don’t understand how the judges managed to assign certain marks.

Con l’eliminazione di un salto dai programmi liberi voluta dal nuovo regolamento, Yuzuru Hanyu ha escluso dai suoi programmi il 3Lz. Di fatto lo ha eseguito solo nella stagione 2019-20, e nemmeno in tutte le gare, visto che il lutz del Four Continents Championship era un quadruplo. Per questo nel mio controllo sui migliori elementi eseguiti da Hanyu, per l’ultimo quadriennio ho solo quattro 3Lz. Non ci sono voti davvero alti in questo caso, e me ne domando il motivo, perché alcuni dei tripli lutz di Hanyu sono molto belli. Anche così si conferma la tendenza ad abbassare i suoi voti.
Sono perplessa su molti voti, anche su quelli ricevuti con il sistema +3/-3, come il 3Lz del Campionato del mondo 2017, dove Hanyu ha ricevuto due +3, sei +2 e un +1, ma quello valutato peggio è il 3Lz della finale di Grand Prix 2019, che ha ottenuto un voto medio inferiore al +3 (nel protocollo ci sono due +4, tre +3 e quattro +2), e non capisco come i giudici abbiano fatto ad assegnare certi voti.
