New post in my check on the best elements performed by Yuzuru Hanyu with the score code +3/-3 and with the score code +5/-5. If you have any doubts about the type of check I did, you can read the first post of the series, dedicated to the 4Lo. The following ones were dedicated to the 4S, the 4T in combination, the 4T, the 3A in combination, the 3A, the 3Lz, the 3F and the 3Lo. When I dealt with the CCoSp I added some explanations on spins. Later I also looked at the CSSp, and since that spin is part of the short program on Chopin’s Ballade No. 1, in the same post I looked at the marks of that program the times Hanyu completed it without making any mistakes. I wrote also about the FCCoSp and the FCSSp.
The average score has dropped by just over three points both if we look at the 10 best spins and if we look at the 4 best. And there is a curious detail. The best marks came in the 2015 Grand Prix Final. The same thing happened with the FCSSp. Did Hanyu get worse after that competition? Maybe, even if it doesn’t seem like it to me. Of course, I’m not a judge. But this gives us food for thought, especially when, precisely after that competition, Alexander Lakernik, at the time head of the ISU Technical Committee and later vice president of the federation, clearly stated that after what Hanyu had just done, the GOEs had to be revised. Unfortunately I arrived late, I started researching years later, I didn’t find the original statement but only someone who wrote about it. Everything I found is in this post. I’ll be the one being suspicious, but the fact that after that competition Hanyu’s GOE dropped seems at least suspicious to me.

Nuova tappa nel mio controllo sui migliori elementi eseguiti da Yuzuru Hanyu con il codice di punteggi +3/-3 e con il codice di punteggi +5/-5. Se avete dei dubbi sul tipo di controllo che ho fatto potete leggere il primo post della serie, dedicato al 4Lo. I successivi sono stati dedicati al 4S, al 4T in combinazione, al 4T, al 3A in combinazione, al 3A, al 3Lz, al 3F e al 3Lo. Quando mi sono occupata della CCoSp ho aggiunto qualche spiegazione sulle trottole. In seguito ho guardato anche la CSSp, e visto che quella trottola fa parte del programma corto sulla Ballata N. 1 di Chopin, ho guardato i voti di quel programma le volte in cui Hanyu lo ha completato senza commettere errori. Ho scritto anche della FCCoSp e della FCSSp.
Il voto medio è sceso di poco più di tre punti sia se guardiamo le 10 migliori trottole sia se guardiamo le 4 migliori. E c’è un dettaglio curioso. I voti migliori sono arrivati nella finale del Grand Prix 2015. La stessa cosa si era verificata con le FCSSp. Dopo quella gara Hanyu è peggiorato? Forse, anche se a me non sembra. Certo, io non sono un giudice. Però la cosa dà da pensare, specie quando, proprio quella gara, Alexander Lakernik, all’epoca a capo della Commissione tecnica dell’ISU e in seguito vicepresidente della federazione, ha chiaramente affermato che dopo ciò che aveva appena fatto Hanyu i GOE dovevano essere rivisti. Purtroppo io sono arrivata tardi, ho iniziato a fare ricerche anni dopo, non ho trovato la dichiarazione originale ma solo qualcuno che ne ha scritto. tutto quello che ho trovato si trova in questo post (in inglese). Sarò io che sono sospettosa, ma che dopo quella gara i GOE di Hanyu siano scesi mi sembra quanto meno sospetto.
