I continue my check on the elements executed by Nathan Chen. After the 4Lz (as a solo jump or as the first jump of a combination) I switched to the 4F in combination, the solo 4F, the 4S and the 4T combinations. Now it’s time for the solo 4T. In the first post of the series, dedicated to Hanyu’s 4Lo, I explained how I worked.The following ones were dedicated to the 4S, the 4T in combination, the 4T, the 3A in combination, the 3A, the 3Lz, the 3F and the 3Lo. When I watched the CCoSp I added some explanations on spins. Later I also looked at the CSSp, and since that spin is part of the short program on Chopin’s Ballade No. 1, in the same post I looked at the marks of that program the times Hanyu completed it without making any mistakes. I wrote also about the FCCoSp, the FCSSp, the FCSp, the StSq and the ChSq1.

In the last four years I had to include two 4T performed at the National Championship in my control to be able to reach 10 executions. Not surprisingly, it was on these two occasions that Chen got his highest scores. In both periods Chen made some mistakes, but overall his scores went up, and they went up regardless of how I look at them: if I look at 10 executions, if I look at only the executions with positive GOE, if I look only at the best 5 international executions (I excluded National Championships and negative GOEs: with the +5/-5 score code I have 5 competitions left, so I averaged the best five competitions even with the +3/-3 score code) or if I only look at the best 4 executions. The judges told us Chen’s 4T has improved.

Proseguo il mio controllo sugli elementi eseguiti da Nathan Chen. Dopo il 4Lz (da solo o in combinazione) sono passata al 4F in combinazione, al 4F da solo, al 4S e alle combinazioni del 4T. Ora passo al 4T da solo. Ricordo che ho già spiegato il modo in cui ho lavorato quando ho controllato i voti ricevuti da Hanyu sul 4Lo. Ho dedicato i post successivi al 4S, al 4T in combinazione, al 4T, al 3A in combinazione, al 3A, al 3Lz, al 3F e al 3Lo. Quando mi sono occupata della CCoSp ho aggiunto qualche spiegazione sulle trottole. In seguito ho guardato anche la CSSp, e visto che quella trottola fa parte del programma corto sulla Ballata N. 1 di Chopin, ho guardato i voti di quel programma le volte in cui Hanyu lo ha completato senza commettere errori. In seguito ho guardato la FCCoSp, la FCSSp, la FCSp, la StSq e la ChSq1.

Nell’ultimo quadriennio ho dovuto includere nel mio controllo due 4T eseguiti al Campionato nazionale per riuscire ad arrivare a 10 esecuzioni. Non sorprendentemente è stato proprio in queste due occasioni che Chen ha ottenuto i suoi voti più alti. In entrambi i periodi Chen ha fatto qualche errore, ma nel complesso i suoi voti sono saliti, e sono saliti indipendentemente da come li guardo: se guardo 10 esecuzioni, se guardo solo le esecuzioni con GOE positivo, se guardo solo le migliori 5 esecuzioni internazionali (ho escluso i campionati nazionali e i GOE negativi, e con il codice di punteggi +5/-5 mi sono rimaste 5 gare, perciò ho calcolato la media delle migliori cinque gare anche con il codice di punteggi +3/-3) o se guardo solo le migliori 4 esecuzioni. I giudici ci hanno detto che il 4T di Chen è migliorato.
